Hopefully, you have already filled out and mailed the 2010 Census form. If not, maybe you need to talk to Rosie Paulus, a Shangri-La employee who is active in the local community.
Rosie has been volunteering for the last couple of months to spread the word about the need to participate in the Census. Being of Polynesian decent, Rosie has especially been instrumental in promoting Census participation among the Pacific Islander populations in the Willamette Valley and Portland area.
Rosie has been going to community meetings and events to tell people how important it is to fill out the Census form and how being counted can help bring in federal funds and other benefits to their communities. Rosie has also been promoting Census participation within Shangri-La and was one of our most active volunteers promoting the Vote Yes on Measures 66 & 67 campaign.
We’d like to thank Rosie for all her volunteer effort, and along with her, encourage individuals to fill out the Census form and mail it in today. Remember, the Census form is due on April 1st.
